Viewing the summary
The summary card at the top of the debt page shows:
- Total debt: the sum of the remaining amounts of all debts
- Total monthly payments: the sum of all monthly payments — your fixed repayment burden each month
- By type: how the remaining amounts break down by debt type
Everyday upkeep
- After each payment, update the remaining amount of the matching debt
- Once a debt is fully repaid, you can delete it to keep the debt list tidy
- Recording the interest rate makes it easier to compare paying off early vs. investing the money
