Download & Install
BookKeep comes in three forms: the Android app, the desktop app, and the web app, and all three share one account. All installers are published in one place, the download page of the web app, which always shows the latest version for each platform.
How to get each client
| Client | How to get it | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| The Android app | Download the APK from the download page | Android 10 or later |
| The desktop app | Download the installer for your system from the download page | Windows / macOS / Linux |
| The web app | Open bk.minbb.cn directly in a browser | A modern browser, no installation needed |
The Android app
- Go to the download page and download the latest APK
- Open the downloaded APK. On first installation, the system may ask you to "allow installing apps from unknown sources" — allow it and continue
- When the installation finishes, open the app and sign in or register an account to start using it
About the "unknown sources" prompt
The Android package is signed and released officially, and is distributed only through the official website and official channels. Make sure the installer comes from the official website; do not use packages from unknown sources.
iOS users
An iOS version is not available yet.
The desktop app
Download the installer for your operating system:
| System | Installer format | How to install |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | .msi | Double-click to run it and follow the wizard |
| macOS | .dmg | Open it and drag the app into the "Applications" folder |
| Linux | .deb | Install it with your system's package manager |
On first launch, the desktop app creates a .bk-desktop folder in your user directory to store your login state and preferences. Do not share this folder with anyone, or your login credentials could be exposed.
The web app
No installation needed — just open bk.minbb.cn in a browser. For the full experience, use the latest Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
Check for updates
| Client | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| The Android app | "Me → Settings → Check for updates" |
| The desktop app | "Settings → Check for updates" |
| The web app | No manual updates needed — refreshing the page gives you the latest version |
When a new version is found, the new version number and release notes are shown; if the version is marked as a forced update, you have to update before you can keep using it. Updating does not affect your data — entries are all stored on the server.
