Ledger Management

A ledger is a container that keeps entries separate. Record different purposes in different ledgers so that statistics and analysis never get mixed up.

When to use multiple ledgers

  • Keep household spending and personal spending separate
  • Keep a whole trip in its own ledger, then review it as a whole when it is over
  • Keep work / project spending separate from everyday spending

A single ledger is perfectly fine too: the system creates a "Default ledger" automatically when you sign up, and you can keep using it as your only ledger.

Where to find it

AppLocation
The Android app"Me → Ledger Management"
The web appLeft menu, "App Management → Ledgers"
The desktop appLeft navigation, "Manage → Ledgers"

Common tasks

  • Add a ledger: enter a name (such as "Daily ledger" or "2026 Trip") and an optional note
  • Set as default ledger: entries recorded without picking a ledger go into the default ledger; this setting takes effect across all three apps
  • Switch ledgers:
    • On the Android app you can switch the current ledger right at the top of the home screen
    • Or pick the ledger in the "Ledger" field while recording an entry
  • Edit / delete: rename a ledger or delete one you no longer use at any time

Move entries out before deleting a ledger

Deleting a ledger affects the entries that belong to it. Before deleting, move the entries elsewhere first (edit each entry and change its ledger), or make sure you no longer need the data. Once deleted, it cannot be recovered.
